I've opened up a thread couple of days ago seeking for suggestions/recommendations on a new computer. Well, I've purchased my new computer. Thanks to the almighty that everything has been going pretty well so far but there is a problem. I've found out that my Banglalion ZTE AX226 modem isn't detected by the computer. I've checked all the USB ports with different devices (flash drive, cell phone, tab etc.), the computer find all of them and they work properly when connected to computer except this modem. On Windows 7, when I insert the modem I instantly get a message on system tray that says, ' USB device not recognized: One of the devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it.'
I've tried both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports but result remains the same. Install From Usb Ubuntu there. I've tried using this modem on Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 as well, OS doesn't detect the modem although sometimes it would find the modem and then eject within few seconds; and occasionally it would show that same error message on system tray (USB Device not recognized.) as Windows 7 as soon as I would insert the modem to any of the USB port. However I still have my old computer (running on Windows 8) and surprisingly this modem works fine here. I took the modem to Banglalion customer care, they tested it and said the modem is okay and there might be a problem with my computer.
I don't understand, if all the USB devices are detected by my computer and they all work well then why this modem isn't working here? I am seriously confused, please help me if you can.
